Turned up on time.
Salesman was rude, inept and only focused on his personal interests.
The salesman from Dolphin Bathrooms arrived on time and the first few seconds went without a hitch. After offering him a drink, I explained what we were looking to get out of his visit. We said we would like him to view the bathroom and give us some ideas of what could be done and the various options. If he could then give us ball-park prices for the different options, we could then take some time to think about which one we would opt for - I thought that this was perfectly reasonable and nothing different to what we had done previously with other companies.
After only one minute, he then accused us of wasting his time? I was a little confused at this point as to who the customer was! I explained that we didn't want to spend all night going into fine detail as we would definitely not be making a final decision that evening. At this point, he started picking up his stuff and saying that it was a waste of time because we would not come back to him. I asked why he thought that was the case and he said "because people never do." I asked why and he said "I don't know, they just don't". I suspect a video of his sales technique would enable him to understand why.
I said to him "So basically, you're saying if there is no chance of a sale in the first visit, you're not interested?". He said that he was commission based and we were just wasting his time. At this point we asked him to leave. It was 4 minutes after he arrived....
My wife and I were left stunned by this bizarre display of inept salesmanship. It appears that this is not a one off incident judging by some of the other posts here.
I would seriously recommend steering well clear of this company.
