They limit access to credit limit and it's difficult to reach them.


General Comments

I too have had a horrible experience with this Providian Emerge Credit Card. I never receive a letter indicating the account was sold. I found out trying to use my Fleet card, which was actually sold to Fleet Bank the year prior. I've had this account for 9 yrs and eventually had to close it when they would only allow me access to $100.00 while out of town. Mind you my available credit was over $11,000.00. I immediately closed the account and asked for confirmation that the account was closed. It is now 4 weeks later and I have yet to receive the letter. I would advise every one that has this card to cut it up and close the account. I will also be contacting the BBB and the commission that governs Credit Cards, because these people, who ever they are truly corrupt. There was much more that transpired in the 2 months that I had this card, but not enough time to tell the complete story.
