Large diversity of inputs. Simple menu and control. Has been reliable through 9 months of heavy use.
Occasionally locks up, particularly if left on menu for a long time. There is a defect in sound when using the ilink input.
I have owned the LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder for a year, and started using it 9 months ago. I have been relentlessly transferring VHS and camcorder tapes virtually daily over that time. So far the only significant problem has been the loss of sound from the ilink input. It appears that I have been lucky with this machine judging from the reports posted on the CD freaks bulletins. It also appears that sending the machine back to LiteOn for a fix is not a good idea. I will attempt an ilink decoder transplant, and if the drive goes, then I will put in another manufacturers drive. So far so good!!
