The Advantage Gold Account is terrible!
For £10 a month I got nothing. No interest or charge free overdraft, a "Gold" credit card with a rate of about 17% and none of the "great" discounts that it was sold on.
Save 1% on a mortgage, loan or other product, but the rate is probably twice as much as other deals available elsewhere.
Save £££'s on CDs, DVDs, electrical goods, holidays, travel insurance, you name it, but again the things you can get discounts on you can buy a whole lot cheaper elsewhere, even after they have given you the discount.
I never once received a quartley magazine as promised offering discounts, great deals, days out etc.
What a waste of money! Advantage Gold? Don't do it! You'd save more putting your money under your mattress.
Disadavantage Gold I'd say.

I am a new customer to advantage gold, I was told I could get a family rail card with this account, I phoned & past on & on to different departments 45 minuets later I was put on hold, if I hadn't put the phone down I would still be on hold & that was 4 weeks ago to me advantage gold is a load of rubbish.

The benefits which are attached to the Natwest Advantage Gold bank account are great, such as:
2% off credit cards to 14.9%, 4.89% fixed mortgage rate, with adgold getting £150 cash back. 2% off overdrafts. No fee free accounts, - you need to control your spending. Holiday insurance included at no extra costs, unless you're over 70. Discounts on holidays booked through the account, fee free travellers card and commission free currency exchange. Plus, a lot more to list.
These benefits are only beneficial if you use them. You cannot expect to make a saving by just sitting and waiting. The rates are very competitive in the banking market. Most people get disgruntled because they can't control their finances and then get charged.
