Cheap.
Poor and arrogant customer service. Poor communication.
I recently moved house and tried to move my insurance with Direct Line to the new property. It was a nightmare. Constantly failing to update our records - send us the confirmation of the new price - and then after confirming it ringing us to ask for all sorts of information bit by bit. Of all the parties I dealt with during the move they were by far the worst - an absolute pain in the neck. Contacting us to ask for information that we had already given them was another one. The staff appeared to be incredibly robotic and unable to think for themselves, unable to admit to mistakes that were repeatedly made at their end and also in a couple of situations were quite rude with no provocation whatsoever. Blaming the customer for the increased workload that they had created for themselves. They were a communications disaster area as far as I could see. A horrible company staffed by some horrible people who were only interested in getting their money off you in my opinion. Eventually I ditched them and would never use them again no matter how cheap they are. They seemed to have quite a brutal business sense in terms of beating their competitors which also translated innapropriately to the way they deal with their customers.
