Easy to contact the helpline by using live chat line. Staff are very courteous and helpful.
Mcafee Virus scan 2005 (9) Software caused my PC screen to freeze, and I was unable to switch off the PC. I had to use the restart button rather too much to switch off the system. It also does not fully protect the system from viruses. Mcafee Personal Firewall 2005 ver. 6.0, and Mcafee Spam killer 2005 ver. 6.0 stop working after 30 days or so (Once the money back guarantee period is over). One has to uninstall and reinstall the software to keep them working. Mcafee Quick Clean 2005 ver. 5.0 also does not operate properly, and starts to give dill error messages after 30 days use. Once the guarantee period is over, Mcafee refuses to offer refunds for the unresolved problems
Last April I purchased Mcafee virus scan 2005 (9.0) + secure ie on line. After one week of use, Mcafee secure ie stopped working, and my system started to crash. I was happy with the VirusScan, and purchased Mcafee Personal Firewall 2005 ver. 6.0, and Mcafee Spam Killer 2005 ver. 6.0. I also added Mcafee QuickClean 2005 ver. 5.0 to the system. After use for 30 days, I started to get dill error messages while using Quick Clean. I was asked to uninstall the software and reinstall. It worked for few days, then the system started to crash. I decided to remove the software. After about 40 days after purchasing the firewall, it stopped working. I was asked to do the same thing (uninstall and reinstall the software). It also worked, but I had to keep uninstalling and reinstalling it rather frequently. I started to get similar problems with the Spam Killer. So I decided to replace the software with different software available on the market. After three months using Mcafee VirusScan software, my PC screen started to freeze. I was also unable to switch off the PC, and I discovered the Mcafee VirusScan software was causing the problems. It was also unable to detect viruses and remove them. I had to use Sdat DOS virus scan to clean the system. My PC continued to still give problems, so I decided to remove the Mcafee software altogether. I got in touch with the Mcafee customer services for the refund, due to unresolved problems. They refused.
