Extremely smooth, yet with a complex and full flavor. Much more rounded character than blends such as Dewers, and Famous Grouse etc... Not as harsh as Johnnie Walker Red Label, and much more mature in character. A rather delicate, yet complex aroma.
While the taste has many of the characteristics of malt scotch, it's character lacks the distinctiveness of single malts. The price is a little on the high side, especially since fine single malts such as Glennfiddich, can be had for the same price.
Anyone who appreciates single malts will taste what sets Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year Old Extra Special Single Malt Whiskey, pure vatted malt apart from blends. The flavor is very smooth, while still being full and complex in character. The aroma is rather light, yet inviting. The blenders at Johnnie Walker succeeded in making a scotch that finds an excellent balance between smooth drink-ability, robust fullness, and complexity. It is more rounded than many expensive single malts, yet its price is as high, or higher, than some of the smoother single malts such as Glennfiddich.
