Good Points

Bag-less and filter-less, and all the attachments fitted on well to the machine for easy usage. Powerful suction.

Bad Points

Most of my household dust and hair seemed to end up clogging the hoover above the filtration system, and did not seem to end up in the dust collector. At least once a month, I needed to do a lengthy strip down, to get all the debris out of it, which was a particularly filthy and dusty job, and made me suspect that something was not right with this model, or that it was not as convenient to use as had been advertised.

General Comments

I bought the Hoover Hurricane Extra Vacuum Cleaner, because it had no bags or filters, and had a very powerful motor. I was initially very pleased with it, although it was irritating to have to take it to pieces to thoroughly empty it out, and I felt that there was some design flaw here. However, after around 14 months (just outside the one year guarantee), it became incredibly noisy, and after a strip down, it became obvious that something inside was not right. I did not bother to contact hoover, as my partner is quite practical, and he managed to stop the loud noise and get it working. Another 2 months later, the motor kept cutting out due to overheating. It would restart after it had cooled. Finally a week later, the motor gave out after a very short hoovering session. I have not even bothered to enquire what a new motor for it will cost, as I just want to ditch the thing, and buy something that fulfills all the criteria for buying this model in the first place.

A trusty dyson is what you want. It may cost a lot of money, but any dyson will be suited to any job you want it to be and it will last for years upon years!
