Excellent Value for money
Great Public Transport Service
Lots To Do
Suitable for all ages
Myself and my 2 younger sisters bought our tickets for Universal Mediterranea Resort, Port Aventura at the same time as we booked our holiday and they only cost a little more than the 3 day pass and allow you the freedom to come and go as you please and provide fantastic value.
I'd recommend buying the pass with your holiday because it takes the hassle out of things. When you have your welcome meeting your rep will give you a form which you just hand over to the park which will be exchanged for your pass. This pass will give you one day at the water park too which you have to decide which day you want to go when you go to pick your pass up because the date gets printed on your passes and they like to plan how many people will be using the water park.
Don't worry if you can't make it on the day you originally choose because if you go to information they will change it for you.
There are different themed areas and I would recommend you visit a different theme each time you visit instead of trying to do it all in one day.
I would also recommend if you have children to come in afternoon because the queues can be long and waiting in the heat of the day can be a bit tiring, and the park is open until midnight so you can still get on all the rides if you come in the afternoon and the queues are normally smaller.
The atmosphere is also better in the evening beause you get the effect of all the shows and music and little attractions that are going on throughout the park as you walk round.
You can buy an express pass for 18 euros which allows you to go straight to front of the queues on all rides which is a good idea if you don't want to stand around.
The children will love this park because there are a lot of characters walking round which you can have your photo taken with, the park photos cost 6 euros but you can take your own and there is no obligation to buy, you are given a ticket and on your way out you can go to the photo booth and take a look at your photo.
There are many restaurants and stalls selling food and drink which is a little highly priced but not as bad as british theme parks, you could take your own packed lunch and leave it in a locker if you didn't want to carry it around. The food however is very good there is a lot of choose, the main restaurants are themed to each are but there are stalls selling hot dogs etc all over the park.
Over all this theme park is very good value and is highly worth visiting, the show on the lake at the end of the night is a must see but get to the lake early as it is very popular and if your at the back you won't get the full effect.
The water Park is also good, not as good as I expected comparing it to the theme park but still worth a visit, lots of slides and a family raft ride as well as a wave pool a small indoor pool and childrens play pools. You will have to pay extra for deck chairs and sun loungers and there is limited seating which you don't have to pay for.
Lockers can be rented but are quite expensive.
