Bad Points

The dealership: In my area it is Arnold Clark. They do not seem to have the training or the want, in order to deliver good customer service. It reminds me of the talent you get at PC World. All there interested in is the sale, after that they're not interested. On the good side the new ex-BMW boss at Alfa is set to shake up, specifically, the UK dealerships in order to successfully receive the new 159. Apparently he had to do the same for BMW 18 years previous. Here's hoping.

General Comments

I bought my Alfa Romeo 1561999 2.0 TS 2 years ago with 57k on it from probably the best Arnold Clark Alfa Branch in Scotland [Perth]. I've just sold it to replace it with a 156 GTA. I should get it in 4 days 3hours and 12 minutes approx, not that I'm counting or anything. I've done a lot of miles in it in a short space of time [108k now] and have had very little problems with the car. However about 4 months ago it had an MOT and failed it. The work cost me £1200! The guy looking after me in the service department gave me a good deal though, by providing me with some much needed discount. I must say, that everything that failed was wear and tear items and should have been expected. It had missed the last service and I had had no problems with the car during that time.

Before my Alfa I was driving a BMW 320 and I had a number of problems with that including an air con problem. The biggest difference I noticed is that the BMW dealerships respond and fix their cars efficently and effectivly whilst providing good service. I got a courtesy car no problem! Plus they fixed the fault and it stayed fixed. The Alfa dealerships seem to struggle to provide coutesy cars and their customer service skills seem to lack. This can lead to even a small problem being drawn out and upsetting to the customer. They don't seem to realise that the customer service you get whilst you own your car helps makes up your mind whether or not you come back and buy another one.

Overall though a fantastic car and a great experience.
