“Overall I would certainly recommend the Suzuki SV650S...”

Good Points
Appearance if faired.
Sensible price.
Cheap to insure and run - 50 to 58MPG if ridden sensibly.
Easy handling if new to the biking scene.
Excellent mid range torque. Top speed in excess of 110MPH
Instruments are easy to read. Digital speedo and analogue rev counter.
Dealership reasonable on service charges. Servicing every 3,500 miles with an average cost at £30 for 600mile service/£110 for 4000mile setvice and £120 for 7500mile service. I never got any further but not bad for 10 months of ownership.
Sounds terrific with a Micron full race system that can be purchased fitted from a dealer for about £320 with some haggling (normal price £380 fitted)
Nice colours. Red looks good with Black frame. Also Blue!
Oxford heated grips at £60 fitted is an excellent option for all year round comfort. Also keeps your hands dry when caught in rain!
Suzuki rear hugger also good option. Pyramid hugger cheaper option if strapped for cash.
Tyres fitted are hard compound. Dunlops Sportmax. I got 6,500 miles out of these tyes but next time I would fit Pirelli Dragon Evo's for all year good wear and grip alternative.
Terrific responsive handling. Bike will make a better biker of you. A good second bike after passing your test, or looking for something reliable, fast and a good looker.
I am upgrading to an SV1000S but I certainly would recommend this bike as the best of the 600cc bunch if you are buying! My comments relates to a 2004 model/purchased in Nov 2004. Silver framed version in Metallic Blue. Super!

Bad Points
Mirrors provide limited rear view vision. (Most bikes of this

General Comments
Overall I would certainly recommend the Suzuki SV650S 650 to anyone.

It is an easy bike to handle with a good riding position. Not outright Sports position, nor bolt upright, but slightly leaning forward.

No pain on wrists experienced, or on back. But will get a bit sore after 100 miles.

Cornering is excellent and in my ownership of this bike I wanted to ride and explore the countryside more and more frequently. A great bike for an outright blast 90mph plus, or for a sedate relaxed cruise any evening or afternoon.

This bike will retain its value reasonably well. Naturally mine had a higher than average mileage on it but it still retained its resale value well. I was pleased with my trade in value!

I am buying another SV all be it 1000 cubes! The 650 has excellent torque low down and mid range. Exactly where you want it. A terrific fun bike.

Very highly recommended.

Take a test ride. Prepare to like it. My advice is take two rides on different days. A good 30 mile run or more if the dealer will allow you!

After that you WILL buy. Just go do it!
