General Comments

I have held an ISA account with Abbey National from day one, and although I am not dissatisfied with the product, I feel the interest rates have slipped against the competition over the past couple of years, and I may shop around shortly.
The staff seem to change on the odd occasion when I call into a branch, and my local branch is a bit run down. There is never a queue, but two doors up, the Halifax is always full - tells a story perhaps?

I've held a Direct ISA with Alliance & Leicester for the past three years, and its current rate is 5% AER. They have launched an issue 3 Direct ISA, which pays 5.40% AER. I can transfer my existing Direct ISA into their issue 3 if I wish. After searching the Internet for a better rate, I found the Abbey National Mini Cash ISA, which pays 5.50% and 5.75% for balances over £9000, and I can transfer my Alliance & Leicester into it. This will give me an extra £149 per annum for filling in a simple form. If anyone else can find a better rate, please post a comment either here on the Review Centre finance forum.

By the way, I opened a Barclays Tax Beater Cash ISA, which pays 6.50% for 12 months. I'll review that one in about 11 months time, and if it's not the best payer at the time of review, then I'll transfer into the highest payer that I can find on the web.
