Like every one else, my story is the same. We had a Fleet credit card for over 15 years and it sold to Providian Emerge. We used it for a couple of months with problems but continued to use it since it was the only card we had. We used it twice one day for small purchases and tried to use it a third time and was denied. When we called (after being on hold for 1/2 an hour and got some one who barely spoke Engish) we got no explanation as to why our card has been cancelled! So, we got a new card and transfered our balance to it, there is no way that they will get another penny from us!!!
