Well made, powerful, accurate, great fun!
Requires firm pressure on trigger in double action mode.
Straight out of the box, the Anics Skif A3000 looks and feels right, despite being part plastic, only the top slide is metal. The plastic is however high grade abs giving a nice weight to the pistol. Loading the gas cartridge is a doddle, the pellet magazine less so, though with practice you soon get pretty quick!
The first thing you notice is the power, this is no toy! the retort is pretty load too, better watch out for the neighbours or you'll have the armed response team round. Nearly all Skifs need the sights adjusting though once set tin cans have no chance (areosol cans if your really mad) I have heard of the dreaded lockup problem, there is a simple way to avoid this, use the correct pellets!
I have used loads of different ones and the best are Eley wasps .177. Why? because they are a short stubby pellet and are a tight fit in the magazine, this prevents them moving forward and jamming the gun. (note if this does happen push a piece of stiff wire down the barrel and re-seat the pellet) Eley''s are pretty cheap too. When loading the pellets use the tool provided to push them down around 0.5/1mm in to the chamber.
The pistol works best in single action mode ie you cock the hammer back first. In double action mode the trigger pull is rather heavy reducing accuracy. I suggest buying a couple of spare mags, there cheap, but they do seem to vary a bit. I know some people suggest taking them apart to clean out lead swaff, but as lead acts as a lubricant there is not much point, and they never work as well once put back together. Considering how many of these guns have been sold you would be unlucky to get a duff un, if you do take it back! One final point do not over oil as this can damage the rubber gas seal.
