Good Points
Enthusiastic crowd.
Bad Points
Brandon Flowers cannot sing in tune.
General Comments
We were really looking forward to The Killers at Leeds Festival, as they were the only band that we hadn't seen in our list of bands at the festival that we'd bought tickets on the back of. We were disappointed. To be fair, part of the problem on my part was that the crowd was appalling, people kept knocking me out of the way, pushing me and shoving me around, and I could only see intermittently. But they didn't actually sound that good. Brandon Flowers has difficulty singing in a live setting. We knew that because we'd seen live footage from Glastonbury, from the NME tour, and from other TV appearances. But it was pretty bad. Usually you don't notice on the night, but we did. It just all seemed very staged and cliched. People were enjoying it, "Mr. Brightside" and "Indie Rock n' Roll" spawned entertaining singalongs, but I suspect that the crowd didn't actually grasp the irony of the latter song, which made me chuckle, but was also a bit soul-destroying.
On the whole, perhaps I should have sloped off to see something else, because it was far from the highlight of the weekend and on the back of it, I'm not fussed about seeing the Killers live again.

I have to agree. The Killers are woeful live, and they are not much better on CD's either!!

Micky how could you say that. The Killers are fantastic both on record and Live, I just saw them on both Saturday and Sunday night just gone. Even though it is now Thursday I am still buzzing thats how good they are live.
