Clean caravan
Queues for everything
Noise
Bad food
Poor staff
Everything extortionate
Repairs not carried out
Too many to mention
I arrived at Haggerston Castle after a 3 hour drive only to be greeted with a wait of an hour before I could check-in. This was after finding somewhere to park then going on a mystery tour through the amusements to find the place. First impressions count and this one was spot on. I had to queue again for linen. The caravan was clean enough although there were problems with the toilet. One was fixed quickly (after queuing for another 20 minutes to report it!!) and as far as I know the plumber has still to arrive to fix the cistern.
The entertainment centre was terrible. It was all blaring noise from the fruit machines and a constant strain on the finances. Could not get a seat in the main hall and the queue for the bar was too long and prices too high. The entertainment was geared up for under 8's as far as I could make out and my son aged 11 was not interested.
The food was absolutely awful. Avoid the chip shop at all costs and if you want anything better make it yourself. The shop was absolutely extortionate and, surprise, there was a huge queue with surly staff.
The noise from the centre could be heard until the small hours in and out of the caravan even with the windows closed.
The staff were unhelpful unless you wanted to buy a caravan but I certainly will not be back there. It is a terrible place. If you have a sack-load of cash, patience to queue for ages, a stomach of iron and are deaf in both ears then this is the place for you.
