The Yamaha YZF-R1 has stunning aggressive looks turns heads in town, handling, riding position, suspension adjustability, exhaust sounds amazing, oh and the engine is rather fast!
Heat from under the seat exhausts, obviously not a tourer and errrrr - can't think of anything else
I have returned to biking after a 15 year lay off - kids, mortgage etc! I previously had 2 proddy tuned LC's and a Kwaka GPZ 750. I read many reviews of what to buy and I thought I'd be sensible and get a 600cc tool for a few months and see how I took to it again, but naaa I just went out and got an '04 plate 2000 mile R1 and not regretted it for one minute.
After a few days of expecting it to snarl and growl and be ready to spit me off at the slightest whiff of throttle, I found it to be a user friendly pussycat of a bike - if given the respect it obviously deserves. But now I'm getting used to the awesome lean angles and finding there is a monster lurking from 9000 - 13500 revs - Wahaaaaay what a fantastic bike, it just launches you at the horizon with warp factor speeds that your brain has to think real fast to keep up!
Every time I go for a blast I come back with a huge grin from ear to ear - God I love this bike!
If you are looking for one of the ultimate sports bikes, don't look any further than the R1, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better on the road.
