General Comments

I could spout off all the technical doo daa about the CDT and the zero lock time, but if you are now reading this review, you have probably already heard it all, so let me tell you why I purchased the Daystate MK3 Air Rifle (superb bit of kit)!
A few months ago the missus got me a HW97K, and in my review of that said rifle, I praised it highly. My opinion has not changed! The Weirauch is a fantastic rifle! So why did I get a Daystate? You may ask! Well, I wanted a pre-charged rifle, mainly for the multi-shot capabilities, and I was torn between the top 4 manufacturers (what I believe are the top 4), LOGAN, WEIRAUCH, THEOBEN and DAYSTATE. I read countless reviews in magazines and on the web, and could not come to a decision, so I called the helpful chaps at B.A.R. (Blackpool Air Rifles), and asked them what they thought was the best P.C.P. available. I was told that they are all good etc... This was not what I wanted to hear, so in the end I asked the chap which rifle he has. He said, and I quote, "a Daystate mk3". He also said that he had fired one shot, and just had to get one! I now know why! This rifle is just superb in all areas, i.e. looks, quality, accuracy, and to me most importantly, SAFETY!
I don't know any other rifle that can be turned on and off like the Daystate mk3, and if you've got children, this can't be a bad thing. Recently in America, a child was killed when a sibling got hold of their parents gun, pointed it at them, and pulled the trigger. This cannot happen with the mk3, even if a pellet is in the barrel, you can lock it and it is un-fireable. I do keep all my guns in a gun safe, better to be "safe" than sorry, but having an adjustable power setting feature, is a fantastic bonus.
I am in the pest control industry, and I occasionally get called to do the odd loft shoot. Now I can safely shoot quarry without worrying about rebounding pellets caused by over-penetration. I just adjust the power selection for whatever quarry I am shooting. Ideal for farm buildings etc.. The 10 shot magazine is a bit stiff at first, but after using it a few times, they slide in and out with ease.
I use Daystate pellets with mine for 2 reasons... firstly I can't imagine Daystate testing their rifles with, say, Bisley pellets (I could be wrong). Secondly, in a recent air gunning magazine, the top 5 or 6 placed shooters, all won with a mk3, and using Daystate pellets.
Basically, with this rifle you get a full power hunter and an excellent target shooter rolled into one, but with a few added gizmo's thrown in. Failing all that, it is a good talking point. You can't help being impressed by what Daystate have done. One last thing though, this rifle falls into the same price bracket as the other high end PCP's, so it makes me wonder what the other manufacturers are offering to justify their high price tag, when you see what Daystate have brought to the table.
