Good Points

Sturdy and solid. Looks attractive. Very comfortable for child.

Bad Points

Heavy to push. Will not fit in most family cars as it is huge.

General Comments

I bought the Mothercare Trenton Travel System thinking I'd at last mastered the art of buying pushchairs! Boy was I wrong! Having made many mistakes with my first child's choice of pushchair, I thought after careful consideration, I'd got it right this time. This travel system undoubtedly looks good and has many fine features. It has a comfortable car seat with a snug fitted to keep your newborn cosy. This is supposed to last until your baby is 12 - 15 months old, but already, my 9 month old has moved to a second stage seat. It has a drop-down basket feature, which should enable you to put shopping in the large roomy basket, whilst your child is lying in the lie flat position. I found this less than easy to work! It refused to budge on several occasions, leaving me red-faced and stressed in shops! It is a very sturdy pushchair, but can get quite heavy to push as your child grows. It is also very long and wide. This does not make it shop-friendly, and indeed, most of my local shops are off-limits when I use this pushchair. It comes with a travel system rain-cover, which is excellent, as it has a zip to enable you to get to your child with ease. It has a clock and temperature gauge, which are useful if somewhat inaccurate! It has a removable seat liner, and an attractive reversible apron. The parent tray is roomy, and has useful compartments for glasses, mobile phone, and juice etc... There is also a play-tray for your child, with useful cup holders. It has four useful recline positions, including lie flat. The worst thing about this travel system is the fact that you cannot use it as one, unless you have a car with an extremely large, and I mean LARGE, boot! We had to change our large family saloon car to a Volvo estate car for it to fit in! Even now it doesn't fit with ease, so forget about taking it away for a weekend, because you won't have room for the mountains of baby equipment you also need to take with you.
