Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The game for which your Playstation 2 gaming console was made for. Leave it to Rockstar to decide what we really want to be. The game was released back in 2004, but I still play it, and it is one of my favourite games. With the recent Hot Coffee Fiasco (I tried it. Wicked!!) and the change of the rating from M to AO (I am only 12 yrs old Shh!), San Andreas is one popular game.
So Grand Theft Auto, set in the early 90s, you play as CJ, a 20 something dude. Former member of the Orange Grove Gang, after running away to Libery City and then returning to Los Santos, when he hears about the death of his mom. His bro, Sweet, sis, Kendl, Big Smoke, and Ryder (a loose cannon), are all heading towards disaster, and it his duty to bring the Families together. But there are too many obstacles in the way. Drugs and CRASH Unit are only a few.
So why was the game a success? O verwhelming Free Roaming Capabilities, Excellent dialogues, Superb soundtrack, challenging and realistic missions are a few reasons. You can even date girlfriends, eat pizza, grow fat, run a casino, go to a gym and jump from a fighter plane from up high with a parachute. San Andreas boasts of over 180 vehicles (bicycles, cars, trains, hovercrafts, helicopters, planes, jetpacks etc...) and many weapons. The AI is greatly improved. Pedestrians stop to have a chat, shake hands and even shoot you if you threaten them. You can constantly see chases and drive bys.
San Andreas consists of Los Santos, Las Venturas and San Fierro, each as big as Vice City. Las Venturas is a lot like Vegas with glitzy casinos and clubs. San Fierro reminds me a lot of San Francisco, especially the famous Golden Gate Bridge. And instead of cruising from city to city, there is a lot of Countryside too. The Highest mountain is Mt Chiliad located in San Fierro.

This game is one must have for all Playstation 2 owners. Way to go, Rockstar.
