Good Points

Too good to be true glossy adverts EVERYWHERE, has the whole world gone with 1and1? Lots of loss leaders, special offers that ensnare you.


Bad Points

Unprofessional, unreliable, hidden costs.


General Comments

Where do I start? I have suffered at the hands of the OneAndOne Web Hosting Company. They offer dreadful support, are very unreliable, and extremely rude. I had the phone hung up on me on 4 out of 11 calls in one week.
If you run a business then you would be taking a big risk!
If you are planning on using them, I would recommend that you make sure you are up on technical issues rapidly, because there are lots of subtle problems and pitfalls. If you fall in a pit, tough, because their support is dreadful. And if their server fails (i.e. nothing to do with you Tough).
If you are seeking to exit from their services, you may have problems, as they have denied me cancelling my whole service because I have partially cancelled (1 domain), and that doesn't take effect until next year. Since they insist on following their cancellation processes, rather than sending a letter of cancellation, I will have to see them in court.
They do not hesitate in putting black marks on your credit reference report, and you can get trapped. I upgraded from shared hosting to a dedicated server, and I am being charged for hosting charges still, even 2 years later, and after much correspondence.
The legal ramifications and costs of paying for re-registering 70 domains + hosting, plus my time wasted, outweigh any special offer or cheap savings 100 times over.
Someone once told me, arrogance alone is tolerable. Incompetence alone is tolerable. But both together in large doses? OneandOne are completely intolerable.
