Realistic to look at
Quality fit and finish
Good bang for the buck
Colt cache' (even if it's made by Umarex and distributed by Crosman)
Realistic enough to scare anybody looking at it
Grip safety is fake and can mislead people into thinking it's safe to push the trigger while not holding the gun.
Bright blue finish means you'll be spending a lot of time polishing this puppy.
Over time, the cartridge puncturer at the base of the magazine can come loose and drop down ruining the overall impression of the gun.
Too easy to put the cylinder in backwards if you get stupid
Have had mine for about 2 years. I use it in training since it looks and weighs about the same as a real .45.
A couple points to watch for:
1. Releasing the slide so it goes forward (not backwards like the real .45) means the cylinder will come flying out quickly. Be sure to keep an eye on it and you'll be on the floor looking.
2. The grip safety does NOT work. It's a fake. If the gun is loaded and somebody touches the trigger, it will discharge even if the grip safety is not pushed in.
3. A real Colt .45 is single action only. This gun is DA/SA which means the hammer will cock and fire if the trigger is pulled. Be careful giving this gun to somebody who has fired the real thing! They may inadvertantly fire it by squeezing the trigger thinking it's safe to do so.
Be careful loading the cylinder to make sure you've got the pellet facing the right way. You might get stupid (like me) and load it the wrong way at least once.
Of note, this gun is so exact it will fit Fobus holsters designed for the .45.
Good accuracy and great workmanship make this gun a keeper.
