Bad Points

I sent my fisio 820 to the service centre late last year as the phone would switch off and then not switch on, this occurred along with a couple of other faults. When I received a replacement i had hoped that this situation was resolved. However this phone went wrong the very next day with the same fault previously. I understand that the phone was different to the other Also as the replacement phone was meant to be a replacement for the original faulty phone and therefore in full working order I am also led to believe that the testing procedures carried out by philips prior to dispatch were inadequate or uncomplete or not even carried out. I therefore returned this phone back to the service centre tomorrow and I hope that the replacement for this phone will be functional.

When asking for replacement always demand brand new phone. The refurbished models will carry the same faults. Working for an engineering company myself I know how management press for release to maximise profits, so the first generations of this phone will more than likely not have been development tested properly. Absolutely agree -- not only the worst mobile phone I've ever owned, but now the worst piece of technology I've ever owned.

Freezes, sometimes turns off, sometimes won't turn off, won't store numbers, can't tell the time, goes from full to empty battery in 30 mins (but only when it wants to)... I could go on but if you're still considering buying one then you need your head read.

I'd never buy another Philips mobile phone after owning this one. (By the way I've had three handsets so it's not a faulty one-off, it's a problem with the hardware itself.)

The replacement i have been sent works without fault, even the bluetooth works. Had it for 3 months. Not a cut off, freeze or any of the other problems that orange had apparantly had never heard of. The early models of this phone pre dec 2002 are very very poor. Demand a brand new replacement if you have one and it will be one of the best phones you will ever own.

Oh except for the cacky battery.
