1) All metal construction (plastic or wooden handgrips) 2) Very accurate reproduction 3) Accurate shooting 4) Can store an unpenetrated CO2 powerlet in the handgrip
1) Very weak DA compared to SA
2) Loose foresight
3) Blueling comes off easily
4) Loose right hand grip
5) Prone to jam (when inserting the magazine)
6) Loose right side safety switch
7) Too heavy
8) Round magazine fells off easily during reloading
9) No blowback
The Beretta 92 FS is a very nice gun but it has its setbacks:
1) When shooting in DA mode the shot is noticeably weaker compared to SA mode, at least 30% weaker comparing traveled distance
2) From the moment I bought the gun the foresight was very loose until it completely fell off after 400 shots (the lower part of the foresight literally broke). I have never dropped the gun or mistreated it in any way.
I had to clued the foresight with epoxy.
3) The blueling is very delicate. On some spots it already started to fall just by pulling the gun in and out of its holster several times.
4) The right hand grip is removable in order to insert the CO2 powerlet. However the grip always moves a little, nomatter how you insert it on its place. That`s not very disturbing and you get used to it after some time.
5) The gun jams often BUT only after inserting the round magazine. I think you have to match the magazine to the cog which moves it. If you done this right everything works fine. I have never experienced a jam after I've matched the magazine to the cog.
6) The safety switch (they are actually two of them - on both sides of the gun for right and left hand) on the right side is quite loose and this just doesn't feel right especially for a safety switch.
7) The gun is VERY hevy (1,240 kg). It is actually heavier then the real 9mm Beretta.
This may not be a bad side for some, but if you want to cary the gun in a belt holster the weight is an issue.
8) The way you change the round magazine is quite disturbing. You can make the change very quickly (and pray that the magazine will match the cog ant won`t jam) but when you release the slide the spent magazine can fall very easily off the gun on the ground. I have experienced that numerous times. If you are in the forest and the magazine falls while reloading you can even lose it.
9) Yes, no blowback. The slide doesn't move unless you reload the gun. Now, only few CO2 guns have blowback but the Umarex Beretta is high-class expensive pistol, so it would be nice to had a blowback, even at the cost of lower pellet speed (because the blowbach system is powered from some of the CO2 used for propelling the pellet)
On the other hand:
1) The gun is all-metal exept for the grips which can be plastic or wooden. It is very nice to touch and use it.
2) I have compared the CO2 version with a real 9mm Beretta and they are almost identical. Very few minor details differ.
3) The gun is very accurate. I've managed to make 2 inch groups at 50 yards (Gamo Pro Magnum pellets), which for a CO2 gun is very impessive.
4) You can actually insert a new CO2 powerlet into the pistol without penetrating it. To penetrate it you must push a lever on the bottom side of the grip. This allows you carry the gun with you for an unlimited period of time without beeing afraid that the penetrated CO2 bottle in the pistol will damage the vent`s seals. If you want to use the gun you just push the lever, the CO2 bottle is penetrated and you are ready to fire.
As a conclusion:
I am only an amateur CO2 gun shooter and I don`t pretend that my review is the absolute Truth. Some of the setbacks of the gun may be because I bought a faulty gun from the store.
Everything in this review are just my subjective impressions.
Bottom line:
I like my Beretta. I think it is a very nice and enjoyable gun and it worths its money.
