Good Points

Can get up to 8 hours of TV shows on disk. Browser menu is easy to use and a bonus the date and time you recorded the show.


Bad Points

Noisy Fan, Clock changing time every day.Powering down when on standby. Display losing 2 characters.


General Comments

Wife brought the Philips DVD-R610 in December 2004 as a Christmas present. I'm a Panasonic buyer( TV and video) but was willing to give another brand a chance(had no choice). The fan was noisy and the clock went back half an hour and then would correct itself. Took it back and got an exchange 2 weeks later. Within a few days the replacement I got the clock changed by half an hour, when on one touch record it would power off without reason. The clock would disappear off the LCD display and then come on(like some turned off the recorder from the mains is the best description I can think of) and now to top it off two of the lcd characters have disappeared( if you open the DVD door the LCD displays "OPENING" but I get " ENING". Sorry but going back to Panasonic brand. The price was right but not the problems that come with it and in less than 9 months.
