General Comments

I'm fairly new to dvd, and i only wanted something cheap. i was told not to bother with the cyberhome player by the guy in richer sounds, for the same price the limit was better. I was initially confused by trying in a strange hack (is this actually legal? But found once entered i was met with everything i could hope for (vcd and multi region)- the macrovision on/off function is a bit odd. Does this remove macrovision? The playback is really something special, i wasn't really expecting it to be so sharp at such a low price (and with a brand i'd never even heard of before!)- the only problem i've got with the limit is it's big bulky silver shell remind me of my old v2000 player!

I just want to know if anyone knows whether there is a difference between the LIMIT 8070 and 8072. (aesthetic, features, etc) ???. The guy in Richer Sounds says that they come labelled in different boxes but are the same. Is the 8072 better perhaps? Also, and this is really REALLY important, can anyone confirm whether the Macrovision can be disabled on the 8070, and whether anyone has actually managed to copy to v hs for backup?

It certainly does- i've been making -ahem!- back up copies from region 1 ntsc disks and they play just fine on my old pal only vcr!

well, based on your opinion, 'flying guillotine', i went to richer sounds and promptly bought the 8070. let it be further known to all, that the picture clarity is tops, sound quality sharp and bold, easily rivalling that of my pioneer player i bought a year 1/2 ago. for the price, excellent machine with tons of features. to answer my own (earlier) question, (!) the 8072 comes with dolby digital decoder built in. costs about £20 more.
