General Comments

I have owned the Volusia for 4 months and i find it a pleasure to ride. It is comfortable, handles well, good fuel consumption (I managed 55 to 56 mpg on a run), plenty of extras to customise it and always attracts attention when riding or parked up.
The plastic fenders and panels keep the weight down and also the rust!

One fault I did find with this bike is the footstand, at first I thought it was just inexperience as I have only been riding bikes approximately 5 years. The stand does not seem to extend forward far enough and on 3 occassions I have just managed to stop the bike rolling off the stand (even at a garage when filling up). After talking to another Volusia owner he explained that exactly the same thing happened to him resulting in his bike smashing against a wall and causing considerable damage.
The simple answer to this is to leave the bike in gear (or modify the stand).

To date it has been reliable and starts first time, I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone looking for a custom cruiser.

I have now owned this bike for 1.5 years and still love it! My review points out the footstand as a problem but leaving it in gear stops any chances of it rolling off the stand. The bike has started first time- every time but does not like the cold mornings and needs the choke for a few minutes.
The bike could benefit from more responsive brakes but you allow for this.
Maintenance is quite easy even though the tank and seat have to come off to change the plugs and water but this is no major problem and only takes 10 minutes.
Overall this bike is great and the only thing i would change is the exhaust system which lacks the rumble of a big cruiser!
