Good Points

Build quality, standard equipment, quality of drive, quietness, roominess.

Bad Points

Not so much a bad point as I haven't got used to it yet! Driving angle... driver seat base support (door side) obtrusive when entering and exiting seat. Will eventually prematurely fail me thinks.

General Comments

Excellent quality vehicle the Skoda Octavia (2005) 2.0 PDi Elegance. Previously had a Mazda6 TS2 which I found to be noisy at speed. Quality of build far superior in the Skoda. Quality of materials is excellent and classy. Equipment levels are high. Side mirror LEDs, courtesy illumination of sidewalk when unarming alarm/opening car. Headlight power-wash. Astounding music system - better than the Mazda's Bose system! The six speed gearbox is a delight well suited to the 140bhp engine which has simply a universe of torque! I cannot rate this car high enough for the money. Previous to the Skoda and Mazda I had a Skoda VRS which was written off by a jerk running a red light... I had the Mazda chosen for me.. I'm so happy to return to Skoda's!!

I have the 1.9tdi Elegance, but in estate. Best car I have ever had. Like you said, excellent build, nice to drive, economical, and for an estate, loads of space. Highly recommended.

My Elegance replaced a vRS. The performance is very similar but the 140 diesel is very cheap to run. The handling is better than the vRS but it does go through tyres if you like going round corners faster than anyone else. A fantastic car, very well equiped and amazing value for money.
