General Comments

Hamilton Insurance supply ACU cover to a large group of companies, these include The Household Bank, Credit and Store Cards. Their prices are reasonable and they allow multiple policies per loan - which seems a good thing. For instance you can have a term (or period) premium and also a monthly premium, you are supposed to be able claim on both and get payments off both. However, I thought you could only claim against one product as with Car or Buildings Insurance, they ask have you got any other insurance cover, to stop multiple claims (insurance fraud). Things seemed to go well with the policies, payments were collected on time, until recently, when policy amounts varied without being notified of the change. A £14 direct debit turned into a £56 one! and then the direct debit dates changed - some monthly policies were now being collected 3 weekly. All these changes have happened in the last month (June/July 2005) so if you have direct debits set up to cover your insurance, take a hard look and make sure the same is not happening to you. To sum up - Shop around for insurance; check your direct debits and avoid Hamilton Insurance.
