Bad Points

False claims of services
Sell expensive non services aggressively
Non existant customer service but plenty of sales lines!!
Control panel is not deigned for usability
Refusal to refund money after agreeing by phone
Helpdesk do not answer email queries for days if at all.
Rude telephone staff
Gastly looking gateway sites based on ugly templates.

General Comments

Easyspace (www.easyspace.com) have been taken over by Iomart. Before the take over the service was so so but Iomart have agressively sold its new service "Ufindus" to customers coupled with gateway websites. The cost of this service is high at around £400 plus. The ufindus service is sold as an insurance of being included in the first one or two search listing on Google (of whatever item/subject your domain offers/specialises in).

Frome my experience, these claims are false and the gateway site set up is ugly and cheap looking.

The ufindus search engine rarely works and having paid around £400 for this package does not find my business. Would you want to find a hotel when looking for a chandelier? Well if so fine but it will never be adopted by the general public. Allegedly is going to be a TV ad for it? When and why, the engine is a laughing stock.

So basically that means you pay £400 for a gateway site. There's money for old rope! Does it bring business? Its more likely to put off people.

Can you get your money back. Yes I was told, it will be cancelled. That was before they pulled the plug out at the complaints department. Will I? I doubt it without legal force. So far I have a letter saying I will not. If you too have been sold this "service" and are fighting Iomart, please contact me with your experience by leaving a comment. I am going to take this to the press.

27.08.05. I run a small not-for-profit venture, using Easyspace for the website & 'business'e-mail. I have recently renewed my website subscriptions.
The e-mail system has been down for about a week, and I've just realised that I can't access my web page or that of Easyspace.
The last communication from Easyspace was a newsletter dated 09.08.05. There was no mention of a buyout.
Do you know what is happening, and do you have any advice, please? Audrey Heard

go to http://helpdesk.easyspace.com/index_easyspace.php. You have to raise a query, think then you will get the phone number to ring. It's hopeless to email a query- the reply can take up to two weeks, that's if the box is not full and the email doesn't bounce back. Good luck getting through by phone too!
If it all falls apart, change ISP and get nominet to change the tag over, I've heard that easypace charge £40+ and they would take for ever. Nominet charge 15+VAT.
