Good Points

The sony is quite small, much smaller than the ipod. It's a beautiful piece of engineering (I have the silver version). The sonicstage (3.1) software is ok. Audio playback is excellent.

Bad Points

The earphones.
No written manual.
No proper carrycase.
The USB/power cable.

General Comments

I bought the Sony NW-HD3 Portable MP3 Player recently from Argos (they are selling them off). Overall I am quite pleased with it but it does have some bad points. The main thing I'm concerned about is the flimsy way the cable connects to the unit and also has to have the power plugged in when downloading from a computer. I'm always amazed that Sony can ask £300 plus for a gadget and not supply a proper case - you get a cloth bag to carry it round in!
