Best use of DS hardware yet
Some of the best puzzles you will ever see
Strong storyline with likeable characters
Some bland puzzles early will put you off
Short-lived
You play as Ashley Mizuki Robins on Another Code: Two Memories, a young girl left in care of her Aunt after her parents were murdered when she was 3, however, just before her 14th birthday, she receives a package from her Dad... Inside is a letter explaining he is alive, and wants to spend her birthday with her; he explains that he is on an island called 'Blood Edward Island' Ashley sets off to see her Dad... There is also a strange device in the package, called the DAS (looks like a Nintendo DS) it seems to be a glorified PDA thing that manages your items through the game, takes pictures, reads messages left by her Dad, helps with certain puzzles and has another feature... but I won't spoil it for you.
Her Aunt Jessica accompanies Ashley to the island, and on the way reveals she actually knew that Richard (Ashley's dad) was alive... Ashley is clearly not happy that she never told her. At the island, Richard is nowhere to be seen, and Jessica disappears when looking for him... you're on your own now...
Starting on the island, the first puzzles to get into the mansion aren't very imaginative and give the wrong impression of the game, but while here it does ease you into it. You also meet 'D' here. a ghost whose story you will have to unravel as he has no memory of what happened on this island...
Into the mansion the puzzles will start to pick up, many are so well adapted to the DS you won't see them anywhere else, and I don't want to spoil it. Some of them are so head-scratching you will feel you need to go online and seek help but my advise is don't, the answer is there, you just need to look.
The story is great and the twists will keep you addicted for hours, unfortunately the game ends too soon, even if you take it slowly you will easily complete it in under 10 hours which is a shame, as while it lasts this game is pure magic you won't see anywhere but on the DS...
