Good Points

A great family resort, excellent value for money, helpful staff, very clean, lots to do, great food and 50m from beach.


Bad Points

Room not ready when we arrived at 2am and totally shattered. Room adequate and clean but nothing special. Impossible to get a sunbed around the pool as so many sad people getting up at the crack of dawn to lay their towels out despite the notices around the hotel stating that it is 'forbidden' to reserve the beds. Plus 'entertaiment' around the pool i.e. water polo really loud and intrusive. Entertainment in general slightly 'Butlins'and not our cup of tea and our room was right above the stage so impossible to sleep until 12pm when the music was turned off - not ideal if you have young children.


General Comments

All in all a great holiday and very good value for money. I cannot fault the food or service. The staff at Rodos Maris Hotel worked really hard and were always friendly. My children had a wonderful time and didn't want to come home. There was lots to do and everything was included even canoes on the beach or cocktails or liquers in the evening and the mini bar in the room was constantly topped up with soft drinks and beer. Food quality was very good with plenty of fresh fruit and salads plus a hot buffet selection and a grill. Beach was lovely with plenty of sunbeds although the beach was shingle and not sand (tough on the feet!) If you didn't want to trek up to the hotel for lunch every day, beach bar had non-stop supply of panini style toasted sandwiches, ice creams and water melon. The only thing we didn't like was the 'Butlins' style entertainment, the non-stop, head thumping noise around the pool (very loud music, plus constant yelling, games etc) and the ridiculous people who got up in the middle of the night to reserve sunbeds making it impossible to ever find a free one... in the morning we would walk past the pool to go to breakfast and no-one would be using the facilities yet every single sunbed had a towel on it... I think the staff could have done more to prevent this.
