General Comments

I bought my Siemens A60 used on Ebay for £5, as a spare to keep in the car. When I opened the box on delivery it looked very, very well used, almost as if it had been dropped from a high building! However, this speaks volumes for the robustness of the electronics. A new case and keyboard has restored it to pristine cosmetic condition. The battery, a 3.7v Li-ion, only held its charge for about 8 hours so this had to be replaced. I also note that the charger was not the Siemens original, and although marked as compatible, had an output of 6.7 volts. I think this may be the cause of the short battery life, as I would expect the correct charging voltage to be nearer 4.9 to 5.0 volts! A quick check and comment by other readers would be useful.

What do people use their phone for? To talk and send text messages (95% of the time). In this respect this telephone works admirably. The output is loud and clear, it is tri-band so will work in North America as well as Europe and it has more than enough facilities for even the majority of users. How many people out there have spent hundreds of pounds on a phone with every bell and whistle imaginable and never used them, maybe don't even know how to use them, dare I venture to suggest.

There is no camera but it is stylish, the screen quality is clear, clean and uncluttered and it has a very user-friendly menu system

Overall, this is the perfect phone to knock around in the bottom of one's pocket, a handbag, school satchel or glove compartment and I strongly recommend it.
