Good Points

The clamshell is fairly old fashion but it's fairly light. The menu is fairly easy to use. The camera is pretty good, capable of external/internal views, 4 X zoom. I've dropped it at least once and it's still going (important for a guy like me). If you want a phone for personal use or something for the kids, it's fine. Jack of all trades as far as networks are concerned (still really need to test this bit out).

Bad Points

No blue tooth - I consider BT as a standard feature for a phone of it's age. Can't use the phone while it's charging - bad, bad, bad. Then again, I'm used to Nokias. The keypad could be better. Since you can't use the phone while it's charging, then at least it should have a better battery meter.

General Comments

The V980, just as a phone, is pretty good. It does the job like I like to say. I haven't had any drop out so far and the design of the phone while dated (it is Motorola we're talking about), it does the job. The menu system is fairly easy to navigate even for a novice like me. I was using old Nokias and decided to upgrade, so that's a plus in my books. The camera features 4 X zoom with both internal/external views, but to me that's only really a gimmick for the kiddies - or if you're on the 3 network. It's the rise siz for a guy like me, not too bulky but not too thin. My main gripe is that you can't the phone while it's charging - bad, bad, bad - this in itself disqualifies it from being a serious work phone. What were the peope at Motorola thinking when they did that. You can't have clients wait while the phone's charging. At least make the battery meter easier to read. Not sure what the new Motorolas are like. Not too sure whether I'm gamed to try them now. it's lack of Bluetooth and the keypad which can be a bit fiddly. At this stage, I'm not having any problems with drop outs so that's another plus.
