Engine is sweet and handling is excellent. Great all rounder.
Thirsty if driven hard.
I recently purchased a 1997 320i (M-tech spec), and am very happy with it. This is my third BMW, and is by far the best. My previous car was a 1998 520i (under powered).
Looks aside, it has a rear wheel drive with the 150BHP straight six cylinder engine and the great chasis is a winning formula. I had to replace a water pump , battery and clutch, but one can't hold that against any car that has done 85,000 miles.
