Good Points

In a word reliable. Plush supension. Smooth delivery of power. Great brakes. Corners well, except burms.


Bad Points

I feel the front end is too heavy, I ride at 5000 to 10000 feet so this may not be such a problem and sea level. Have to really work to get the front end up over obstacles.


General Comments

I have had my Honda XR400R since 2000. Have rode mostly on mountain trails. Recently while riding in Moab I switched and rode my friends CRF450 and he rode my XR400. He couldn't get over how plush the bike was, I thought his suspension was harsh, but would love to have his power, however I felt the XR400 put the power to the ground more efficently. Bet my rear tyre will last twice as long as his. Wish the power was a little better to help loft the front end. In sand the bike tends to wander.
