Good Points

Cheap insurance. handles well on corners. smooth ride on motorway.


Bad Points

Rusts like crazy!
Steering wheel melted.
Gear box mount perished.
Clutch system leaking.
Ford Dealer aftercare service terrible!


General Comments

Ford Ka Collection 1.3 City Car on a 2001 'Y' plate.
This has got to be the worst car I have ever owned. Granted it does handle well but the problems I have had with it seem never ending. The sills rusted out under the ka collection plates. I took it back to Ford as they have the 6 year anti-corrosion warranty. Waste of time! They would not honour this, stating that it was neglect on my part, I had only owned the car for 8 months at this point. So after losing the battle, I paid out £600 to have the sills cut out. Next the steering wheel melted, costing £140 to replace. Most recently the hydraulic clutch system has started leaking and the gear box mount has perished - estimated cost £350. I have finally decided to cut my losses and get rid of this car rather than pay out anymore. This going to cost me more in finance but I believe it will be worth it just to be shot of this appalling car.
