Good Points

I saved joining what appears to be a network with poor service.


Bad Points

Impossible to get a mobile phone on-line.


General Comments

Incredibly, I was fool enough to try not once, but twice (one year apart) to get an AT&T phone on-line, having seen an advert with a teaser startup offer. The phone never came either time.

In both instances, I'd filled out all the information on-line, and ordered a phone, but it never came. In the most recent order, I wanted specifically to get the phone on-line, since they offered a free rebate (which wasn't available in a brick-and-mortar store).

After ten days, the phone hadn't come, so I called to get a human being, in the hope of retrieving the order. The rep couldn't retrieve the on-line order, but promised I'd get the phone within five days.

One week later, I called again, and the rep said the order had been cancelled for some reason. So I had to fill out the application on-line again (this was the fifth order in total, including last year's shenanigans)!

Well, after a week I finally got an email from AT&T telling me they'd cancelled my order for the following reason: "we could not reach you by email."

I rest my case... obviously, they have too much business to bother with my humble request.

Now I have a T-mobile phone (which arrived three days after I ordered it)!
