I brought this phone after reading the first 3 reviews on this forum. However I was very disappointed and took it back for a refund the very next day. The menu navigation was long winded, and the camera was slow to use. There was a line across the camera pics if the subject moved or changed facial expression. Also the infrared was of no use at all. The infrared was only to be used as a modem setup. It was not able to allow transfer of pictures or data from a PC/laptop. I brought the Nokia 7650 instead and am 99% happy, it is a reliable and perfect phone but not the best to look at (regarding size,) until the features draw you in.

  I too read all the good and bad points for the GX1 on this and other forums, but for £39.99 and a £20 per month tarrif from O2 I think it's worth it's little downfalls. Compare this price with O2's £199 for the Nokia 7650 (arguably better - but ugly) plus I've found another site selling the GX1 for £285! As far as battery life goes,I've always put my Nokias on overnight charge anyway.

  Well, most of this review is untrue, the battery life on the gx10 and gx1 is 2 days for one charge, which is good for a digicamphone. The camera quality is also far superior to the nokia.

  Sorry, but this is a typical nokia users review!!! This mobile is currently far better than anything nokia has to offer, at least in my opinion and as far as criticising the camera quality...you'd be happy with this phone if it had nokia logo stamped on it! People, judge for yourself.

  Having owned both the Sharp GX1 and the Nokia 7650 I have to say that this review is totally true. The picture quality from the Sharp GX1 is not good at all, whereas the Nokia is exceptional. I owned both phones at the same time and took pictures of identical things with both phones - the ones from the Sharp GX1 lacked definition whereas the Nokia showed the objects true colours and even things in the background which the Sharp failed to pick up. I am not a big Nokia fan and will be buying a Panasonic GD87 next, but the only reason I sold the 7650 was because of it's size, I can't fault in in any other way. The Sharp GX1 is a lovely looking phone and has some great features but the camera lets it down badly as does the screen which had lines on it almost like a water mark - not good enough in my opinion.
