Excellent accuracy
Great looks
Good handling
Excellent Mechanical Quality
Great trigger
Might be a little hard to cock for younger teens
I purchased the Beeman R9 .20 after trying and being dissatisfied with less expensive adult springers. I have had the R9 for about 6 weeks now and I am pleased in every way. The beech stock is handsome and well finished. The trigger is light and responsive, yet safe right out of the box.
I bought this gun to use with a scope so I didn't even bother shooting it with open sights. I mounted the BKL 260 mount and the Swift Premier 3x9x40 scope and had it sighted in quickly. The accuracy out of the box was much better than what I had experienced from my experience another well known brand. Right now I have the rifle/scope sighted in at 15 & 35 yards. I can get 3/8 inch 5 shot groups at 15 yards and 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 35 yards when I am shooting well from a rest. The pellet (Beeman FTS) goes where I am aiming and that's all I ask. Lately I have been shooting paintballs from golf ties and pennies tapped to my target backstop just for fun. From a rest at 15 yards I miss no more than 10% of the time, and that is all on me.
If you are looking for a "can't miss" Springer at a reasonable price that is built to last, is very accurate, sweet to shoot and will work equally well for rested target shooting, hunter-class field targets, silhouette shooting and pest-control/small game hunting you can't pick a better air rifle for the money.
