Mitsis Hotel Norida Beach Review

Kardamena Town very good for shopping, eating, drinking - a must if staying at the Hotel Norida Beach. Very good taxis but the local bus service is excellent too once you figure out the timetable - you can catch the bus from the hotel and it can take you all the way to Kos town if you stay on!!

Hotel Norida Beach - Hotel surroundings are nice but if you get allocated a bungalow then expect to be disappointed. Apart from being up 'cardiac hill' the rooms are 'very' basic but the maids are excellent at keeping it clean for you - because there's nothing much in the room!! Hotel staff are unhelpful and very unfriendly towards the British - most of them are Albanian not Greek!! Avoid the reception desk at all costs as the women are the most aggressive I've ever met!! The food is diabolical and I like foreign food - there was a case of food poisoning during our stay so avoid the seafood! Even breakfast was appalling! the food is the same day in day out and you quickly get sick of being hungry. Very hard to get a coffee as you have to queue everywhere and trying to get a waiter is a task in itself. The 'international' brands is whiskey, only whiskey and all the alcoholic drinks are watered down that much there is no taste. Don't dream of laying on a sunbed by the beach or the pool as there isn't enough and the Germans 'towel' the lot before you get chance!! The animation team are rubbish as they are only interested in looking good. You don't even get a hello or good morning! The only time they speak to you is when they want you to attend one of their pathetic shows. The pool with slides has only chairs around it - no sunbeds so it's difficult to relax but the snack bar is usually quite empty and is about the only place you can get a drink without attitude. This pool is the closest to the bungalows so is a nice pit stop halfway up 'cardiac hill'!

Hotel Norida Beach - Me, my husband and 3 teenage daughters booked this holiday on the basis of it being a 5 star hotel but were sadly disappointed! The 5 star is the Summer Palace which we had a snoop around and is quite luxurious. The problem with Norida is it caters for Summer Palace as well so just hasn't got enough staff, sunbeds, food, drink and decent entertainment to cope with the volume of people. We ate out every night in Kardamena and at Big Mike's which is a short walk down the beach and highly recommended. I strongly suggest you book a hotel closer to the town as the people are so much more friendlier and are not anti British. Norida is aimed at the German tourists not the British. This was the worst holiday I've ever experienced and you should check who you fly with as Alexandair is the worst airline. For 4 hours you sit and stare at the seat in front on a very cramped dirty plane with no entertainment at all and stewardesses who don't speak a word of English after enduring delays at arrival and departure times.
