Bad Points

LG clearly had problems at launch (obviously unbeknown to network 3, or they wouldn't have pushed the phone so heavily)

General Comments

I received the LG U8120 at the beginning of October 2004, at a time when the problems with this model were little known.

The problems manifested themselves in many and varied ways, many of which have been catalogued in reviews on this site, and many others.
The solution to my problem,(and I would suspect) the majority of users, was to have the software inside the phone 're-flashed'.

Once the diagnosis had been established, the phone was returned to me within two days, and I have used it ever since without problems.

The 'working' phone is excellent in every way, and I find the '3' network very efficient, and with better coverage than Vodafone.

There is a newer model out now, the LG8130, for which I see there are yet no reviews, but I would like to think LG have not repeated the same mistakes.

The '3' network led the trend for cheaper cross network calls, and for this alone, I would fully recommend LG and '3', as it is nice to know you can phone any other mobile phone, without being charged exorbitant prices.

They also offer a wide range of tarriffs to help you select the best value deal to suit your lifestyle.

I have, incidently, encouraged four more people to purchase the LG8120, and thankfully, only one other has encountered the same initial problems. It is therefore possible that all the rogue phones have been taken out of the consumer market.
