Overall Rating
- Ease of Use

- Used service for1 year and over
Choice of accounts is good with monthly interest available at a good rate. Free travel insurance up to 65 with an option to pay for extra cover. Easily make bill payments and transfers. I have broadband so it is very quick to download the site, not too many graphics which take time normally (other banks).
Bad Points
Maybe the response time could be better.
General Comments
I have found A & L a brilliant bank. I have had the Premier account in the past which also gives you travel insurance for a year every year until your 65. I have upgraded to premier plus which gives an excellent rate of interst on your c/a, there are conditions to be met to qaulify for this account and that is £1000 must be put into the account ever month otherwise there is a charge of £5 and if you have more than £2500 then the rate of interest goes down so it is worth keeping an eye on your account. Which also is great by the internet, making payments at 3am etc the facilities are very good. My husband has a lot of activity going through his account every month i.e. dd, so, transfers etc it is good to see these up to the minute. Contacting A & L by email is not as quicker response as i would have liked but is feesible, generally within 48 hours. You can pay bills very quickly and most utility companies have the A & L/Giro bank accounts. I am very inmpressed with them and feel that if you have a good relationship with your bank then communication is very important if you are aware that say funds will not reach your account in time. Charges are applied but that is the same with all other banks as well.
