The Citroen Saxo VTR is a great value for money car it has good performance for low insurance and also the fuel econmy is good. I think its a good choice for new drivers wanting good performance for low insurance. It handles like it is on rails, but you have too watch it when booting it around a corner too fast because a lift off the throttle will cause the back end too drift out. I found the steering and suspension set up perfectly for pottering around town or for motorway cruising. It can show up some of the bigger boys off the lights and it also out handles most modern hot hatches. It gets to 60 in just under 10 seconds which isn't world beating but it is good enough.
