Good Points

* Look great (funky red)
* Heat up very fast (up to 230 degrees)
* Porcelain plates glide through your hair & give hair a fantastic finish
* Seals in moisture
* IONIC & infa-red technology
* VERY easy to use (buttons to control 'on' & 'off' & temperature control
* The angle of the plates can be adjusted (15 - 90 degrees) to get closer to roots
* Unlike other straighteners come with very useful (and thick) heat mat to protect surfaces
* Swivel & long cord for flexibility
* Only takes me 10 min to do my hair now, instead of at least 25!
* Kept my hair poker straight for hours, regardless of wind etc. when I go out!

Bad Points

None - but a word to the wise - I wasn't paying attention the other day as I was in a hurry and burned my ear!

General Comments

Babyliss Pro Porcelain Straighteners - THESE ARE THE BEST STRAIGHTENERS I'VE EVER USED!

I was dubious at first as this was the third set of straighteners I'd bought (and swapped over) in just as many weeks (I'm sure the sales assistant in the shop thought I was the most picky and difficult customer to please in the world!)

However, everytime I'd left the shop with a new set of straighteners worth a small fortune, I was unhappy with their performance. This, the shop assistant told me, was my last chance. If I wasn't happy with these, then, basically tough, I would be stuck with them as she was unwilling to swap them over again, her "good will" had well and truely run out!!

I have naturally VERY curly hair but annoyingly it doesn't curl immediately from the roots. When I let my hair dry, after I've given it a once over with a towel, it resembles (if you can imagine) what Scary Spice would look like after being dragged through a hedge backwards and then being shoved into a tumble dryer!

So the previous two sets of straighteners that I'd bought were okay, but frankly not good enough and (like I told the shop assistant) if I'm willing to spend in excess of £80, I want a pair that will do the job, and do it well!

Apparantly porcelain straighteners are the next generation of straighteners to hit the UK and are a better quality, more durable and have a better sanitary finish than the ceramic ones on the market.

The woman in the shop sold them to me (even though I loved the fact they were red and stood out from the rest) by saying that porcelain plates aren't affected by chemicals we use on our hair, can withstand acids, alkalines, water or "organic solvents", eliminating fear of any kind of possible reaction. Even the booklet says:

"The use of porcelain gives the straighteners an all round superior quality to the ceramic straighteners that arecurrently on the market."

The glass-like quality of the porcelain plates have proved they can iron out my wire-like hair without any snagging & make my hair look shiney and healthy.

They feel good when you use them, very smooth and they are stupidly easy to use - I particularly like the light bar which lights up when it reaches the temperature you want, at the touch of a button.

They heat up in seconds and retain the heat brilliantly, one pair I used seemed to lose heat and I kept finding myself having "rest" breaks and waiting a few minutes for them to get hot again, which inevitably took me ages to do my hair.

Like I said, I was dubious at first, I went in expecting them to be terrible and was totally suprised at how amazing they were - how good they make my hair look, how healthy they made my hair feel and how easy they are to use!

I'd asked friends, searched high and low through magazines and looked on the internet for a good set they were less than £100. It was by chance when a leaflet for Sally's Hair & Beauty landed on my front door mat that I drifted in to have a look at what they stocked, I was glad I took the other pairs back as I knew there would be a pair good enough for my hair, it was just a matter or trial and error.

A friend of a friend got me a Sally's trade card so as an added bonus I managed got them at a discount price too - £64.99 instead of £90...

I would WITHOUT A DOUBT recommend the Babyliss Porcelain Pro's to anyone how has "difficult" hair because I LOVE MINE TO BITS!!
