Cannot dim display at night


General Comments

Had this Sony CDX-MP40 MP3 CD Tuner in my Carina. Its an excellent unit but it is not possible to dim the display at night. Display is very bright indeed and if the unit is mounted in your line of vision as it was in my toyota it proves very distracting, so much so that I changed it for a unit that allows dimming (kenwood). Otherwise excellent, radio great, cd player great, mp3 player great, was sorry to part with it but it was impossible to drive at night with unit turned on.

    Well with your comment as to it being very bright, your right it is bright but you should have tried just plipping the front panel down as it still plays
