Bad Points

Slow speed, poor technical support and very poor customer service and downright illegally incompetant account handling.


General Comments

Tiscali www.tiscali.co.uk: Which is better - sign up for a telephone/ internet service with Tiscali or have a leach stuck on your backside? Choose the leach - it will be less painful and easier to disconnect from! Tiscali have some nice adverts. Once in you find their resolution of technical issues is poor. I used their Smart Talk telephone service, being directly transferred when they bought this from NTL. Thankfully I did not pay for this by direct debit and did not allow them to automatically route calls over their network. I told them by phone in October 2004 that I wanted to cancel the service. Wrote them a letter too. They are still billing me (June 2005!) despite the fact that none of my calls have been routed across their lines since August 2004! These guys are persistant at nothing except extracting money from your account and failing to act on requests to cancel the service. They simply continue to extract the standing charge. Robbery basically, don't touch them with a barge pole. There are no good reviews on here. I think they must be desperate for money as they offer such poor service that customers leave in droves - so what they do is to make leaving difficult, delay it by failing to record or act on account cancellation requests and extract those last few £.
