Good Points

When trained and socialized they can be very great pets and people friendly. Smart, athletic, protective. Little to no grooming needed. Great pet.


Bad Points

Has a bad reputation through media. Can be dog aggressive if not socialized when young. Needs lots of exercise. It's a determined breed. If bored they can become a escape artist. Needs lots of attention.


General Comments

The American Pitbull Terrier is very fun loving and has zest for life. I've owned different breeds put none can compare to my Pitbulls. They're great with children and can take children's rough play. Must be well trained and socialized because can be dog aggressive, not the same thing people agression which is very rare with most Pits. Needs much time and affection can suffer from seperation anxiety. When you have meet one you'll be in love with them. Needs lots of physical activities to burn energy and mental challenges so they won't think of ways to escape. I recommend a six foot fence at least some can jump that when they put their mind to it. This is a great breed.
