General Comments

Northern Rock were great when I needed to refinance to consolidate all my debts into one monthly payment. However, when my circumstances changed and I attempted to bring down my monthly payments by paying off half of the loan in a lump sum I was informed very haltingly that I had to first pay the lump sum then apply for my payments to be lowered. When I asked if there was a chance the application could be rejected I was told YES. Then I had to ask if the lump sum would be refunded and the answer was NO. None of this information was volunteered and the advisor continually said, "I'll explain it again." only to go on to a completely different avenue of trying to lower my apr. I was left bamboozled after asking what I thought would be an everyday request at a loan company. I also asked if I should go to my bank for a loan and the advisor told me YES!!!! I know that customer retention is a big part of a companies structure and this person obviously decided I wasn't worth keeping. I'm off to see the bank manager - oh and there is no easy way to get in touch with these people by email - its all phone lines.
